Two of my friends, one male and the other female, went to go see the new Transformers movie at it's midnight release. My male friend said that it was freaking awesome, while my female friend really wasn't too fond of it. And this somehow got me thinking about how guy movies and chick flicks are both similar and different. And because the Dragonball DVDs I bought from Play N Trade don't work (invoking my nerd rage) I decided to entertain myself by writing this.
A man is having a hard time telling his wife that he loves her
Chick Flick Reason:
The man in question is struggling with his job and has the possibility of being fired from his job. He's also struggling with being loyal to his wife and all of these conflicting emotions are too much for a simple "I love you" to his wife.
Guy Movie Reason:
He just got punched in the jaw by the World Champ. boxer, making it hard to speak.
A man saves his wife from a burning building
Chick Flick Reason:
The wife is so upset that her husband's too busy bowling with the guys rather than showing her how much he loves here that she accidentally knocks the Iron onto the carpet, starting a huge fire. The husband realizes the errors of his ways, so he goes home to apologize only to see his house on fire. So he selflessly and heroically rushes in to save his wife from the flames.
Guy Movie Reason:
The Giant Robot just got done using his flamethrower.
A man is running toward the woman of his dreams
Chick Flick Reason:
A man sees a woman who reminds him of his deceased wife, and although at first the woman found him to be a stalker, she soon comes to realize that she loves him. And so she sits on top of a hill, smiling as her loved one comes running to her.
Guy Movie Reason:
A quarterback just caught the ball and his girlfriend is waiting in the end zone.
As usual, I can't think of much else. But hey, it was a fun read, right?
