This game bothers me people who play these type of games need a life. If you want to play the guitar get off your lazy butt and learn to play a real guitar. I mean really, you have to play guitar on your game console because you want to pretend that you have a life. You arent fooling anyone. It not real guitar, and you arent a guitar player because you play this lame game. Seriously, anyone who owns this game should get a life. Or, just cant get a girlfriend.

This is the first negative response to Guitar Hero I have ever heard.
Try playing it with friends and it's a blast and spends hours.

-They aren't willing to spend the money for a guitar plus lessons
-They don't WANT to play real guitar.
-They don't have the TIME to go to lessons and learn guitar
-They play GH as a VIDEOGAME, because they realize there are huge differences, and get more pleasure out of GH than playing a real guitar.
- They like the competitive nature of the game, something they can't get out of guitar.
But of course, people are probably just lazy.

Anyways, you would be an idiot to think that the five fret Red Octane Guitar and a real guitar are alike at all. Thus, we shouldn't have to compare the two anyways, it's like saying, Why play Super Paper Mario when you could be eating chicken?

It's a video game. It's so people who play guitar can have something to do with their friends who don't.
It doesn't remotely mimic a guitar accurately so you are a fool to think they are trying to replace guitar with this game. It's called a pass-time. If you don't like it, don't play it.

You have just proved my entire point about this game being terrible. You have also proved that only people with no lives in the outside world (thats right open those curitans and look at the outside, I know the sunshine burns at first) Obviously you feel the need to defend this horrible game to justify what you call a "life" (thats right SWF is for people who don't have lives) . And sorry to burst your bubble but playing guitar hero is not a "life". I am sorry it just cannot be.
EDIT: I am not only listing the complaints for this game, I am warning other people from buying this disgustingly awful game. Yes ok Ck, I understand that you do or did work in a guitar shop. Because by your logic, all games aren't worth playing. Why play a racing game when you can drive? Why play a hunting game when you can hunt? Why play GTA when you can go on a rampage?
The game doesn't mimic guitar on the level I'd like, but it's still fun and my friends who can't play guitar enjoy it and we can play together.

Get distracted there? I don't know what your trying to say. But people who play video games have real lives y'know. Me and my group of friends who play all have girlfriends, go to movies, and work out. Guitar Hero doesn't take away from any of that.
Like I said, I have a very active social life, and others who play this game do as well. I agree, simply playing guitar hero is not a life. But playing Guitar Hero while doing other social things and having fun is. And who are you to tell me what justifys "a life"? You're no Jesus son. Settle down.

Playing video games is not a life, sorry to dissapoint you. And there are some things that you can acheive in real life that you cannot feel in real life. Example: Guitar hero
It doesnt feel right, and they made it terrible, you can't compare actually playing the guitar to sitting in front of your tv all day playing a guitar playing sim game. It just doesnt compare, and to your point CK, I am not saying that all video games should not, be played, I am saying that video games that are designed poorly should not be played, and you can't defend that GH even close to playing the real guitar.
