Further to Scav’s news of Gamespy taking the Wii online some new and rather sad/frustrating news regarding Friend codes and their return. (Dum dum dummmmm!)
1up interviewed gamespy about them taking the Wii online and one of the questions asked was regarding friend codes.

GameSpy: The answer to your question is yes, for the Wii friend lists are game specific.

So hooray. Get prepared to enter a LOT of smash bros. friend codes come Brawl’s release.
