Smash Wii U Greninja's Trailer Hints to 8 Player Smash?

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but whilst rewatching Greninja's trailer and noticed that exactly 8 playable characters appear in it. This is probably just a coincidence, but I thought this might be interesting to share. Maybe 8 player mode was to be announced at E3 but they wanted to save it for later.

From what I remember, Mega Man's had five, and Rosalina's had six. I thought it was weird to have more than four characters, but I just chalked it up to wanting to include more in the same cinematic (the more the merrier, after all).

As mentioned by a recent CinemaSins video, the shot > logic. The shot where everyone's throwing their projectiles in Greninja's trailer is one of my favorites, and wouldn't have been possible with just four people overall.

Good theory, though. I had briefly considered it myself.

I've never recalled this? Please elaborate. But seriously if it's about the clouds... Dude, come on seriously. The clouds are purely coincidental. Did people forget how they overly analyzed the clouds in SSE's first image? :/

I recall a Nintendo employee saying that there are some hidden secrets in the Greninja trailer, which lead people to belie that Pac-Man is really in the cloud, and that Ridley really is in the tree branch Greninja is standing on.

If that's true, the teasing of an 8-Player Mode wouldn't be that .

After all, this trailer was part of a Smash Direct.

It looks just like Pacman, Come on man. And i think there may have been a duck for the Duck Hunt Dog in shulk's trailer right when he jumps to slash Bowser, But that may be a coincidence.

I didn't mean my previous post to sound sarcastic, I'm actually a bit convinced that you guys were actually right after all.

(In all fairness, the Pacman shape couldve been coincidental since it's relatively a very simple shape)

I think I found it. It seems he's more referring to the Direct as a whole than just the Greninja trailer, but you might be right still since the trailer is part of the Direct. Interesting...
