Nice. I tried to do this a few days back but my grapple beam kept canceling too early so I didn't think it was possible to get the timing just right but after seeing your vid I went back to try again and it's not that hard at all.
On a different note, using the same edgehop you used in this vid you can missile cancel two homing missiles and end up right on the edge. There's not enough time for supers but two homings are better setup for a combo than the air grapple IMO. At least at early %s, at late with tipping grapple's better I guess. The grapple comes in handy more when recovering from up to down to use it not to sweespot the edge but to knockback edgeguarder for an upb recovery. The way I see it, coming up from the edge, two homing missiles or a fair are a better setup unless you're in range for a tipper

the problem with using the homing missiles that i found is that they're too slow and people always dodge or shield them easily

the grapple is almost instantaneous and they rarely expect it when you do pull it off, which is the reason i like the grapple better

but w/e this all depends on how far away the opponent is and etc...

Have you seen it when the timing is off on this and you grab right as youre going over the edge? It grapples on the edge instead of doing the air grapple but it's glitched or something because the grapple is seen going above Samus's body going up and down. Then it gets fixed and brings you way down below the platform like it was originally meant to be. If you get hit while this glitch is happening on the edge of the platform and you get hit on your way down, it seems like the game counts you as already being below the stage instead of where you are at that moment, so it's almost certain death. Of course there are no invincibility frames becuase you're still using grapple, and youre just there chillin on the side of the stage for a second before you get sent down. I haven't tested this much, but it really was weird. I worded this a bit strangely, but if this has happened to you then you know what I'm talking about. If you don't have the game then nevermind haha my explanation was crap

I actually know what ur talking about, but i don't do that anymore when i want to do the grapple goodness (gg), I've gotten used to pulling it off

i guess i could try messing up the gg so i see what happens, if ur right, then people should just pull it off better.... but seriously, if someone is that close to the edge waiting to hit you when ur coming back why would u try a gg? better to fair back on or drop down to wall tech dair
