Grand Rapids MI had it's first Successful Smash 4 tournamnet

What up everyone! I know that the smash community had gone through some changes over the years, but I just wanted to spread the word that West MI Smash 4 community is beginning to grow. I used to run Melee tournaments in Grand Rapids back in 07-08, and now I am back to start spearheading A tournament series for smash 4 called the "Tom Nook Experience".

We had our first event this last Saturday We had 13 teams, 26 entrants for singles and 7 setups in a small card shop in Grand Rapids. We had a stream setup and were able to record 6 hours worth of smash footage.

We plan to eventually start doing live streamed friendlies events and our next tournament will be in early March.

I will continue to push this game forward so that The smash community grows. Anyone that is interested in helping support the smash 4 seen in West MI Let me know

Yo, I've been hosting smash tournaments in Northern Michigan for about 4 years, but last year I moved to Big Rapids for college at Ferris State University. In the next coming months I will be attempting to host a free tournament at the local library here in order to gauge public interest (Especially the interest in competing with a pay-to-enter prospect). Expect to see some sort of scene rise out of BR.

I live about 20-30 minutes from Grand Rapids and I've been struggling to find any places in my area for tournaments. Fortunately I found this post! You should start a facebook page concerning any tournaments you host. I really want to get involved with the smash brothers community in West Michigan

Hey there are a few Facebook groups that are about west MI smash that I can point you to such as:

These groups are not solely for tournaments, but if a West MI tournament is happening it will probably be posted to one of these two groups. I also have a tournament coming up soon that is posted in these groups. Hope you can make it out to a tournament soon!
