Is there any possible way to:
1. Not make holding a direction charge a smash attack.
2. Apparently holding it in a direction for too long causes you to keep your original momentum

But 1 is the big one. PLEASE tell me theres an option for that

Set the C-Stick to Attack, that's really the only option you have.
