Good video capturing software for old PC (with capture card)?

My old PC manages to record without dropping frames for about 10 seconds, then it because to lag all to hell. Is there any video capturing software good with old PCs? My PC isn't ANCIENT, but it's old.

I was using the AmarecTV software, on an old eMachines computer with about 640MB RAM.
