Good Time to use Toon's Tilts?

Besides the ultra useful uptilt I find I never utilize Toonlink's forward tilt or down tilt very often. I want to try to use them in combat regularly but hardly seem to find a way to string them into my moves (hardly if ever use down tilt but do use ftilt sometimes)or use them safely (again besides uptilt). Do you use down tilt/forward tilt in your game, and if so how/and when?
