i dont think that many people really do this, but started to see it recently.

when forward throwing marth by the ledge, knowing that they will be diing away from you to avoid the f-smash you can then dash attack after the throw instead. after the dash attack you can then jump up and get spike. it is effective when knowing the f-smash will not hit.

sry if people know this already

i think i already do something similar except dont spike, i normally Nair

edit: spike would prob be better, but i have been playing the computer recently and they like automatically up+b from spikes.

It's already known, I asked about it a while back after watching Ken vs Azen at mlg vegas. Seems to work around 40-70% +/- 10 or so.

Sorry...

I meant to say: Short and Fair like you were going to double Fair them, but instead of a second Fair, you upAir. This will pop them up just right, then you forward air them, see which direction they DI, then double jump to a Dair.

I apologize if any of you didn't understand what **** I said.

Also, Forward throw at 0% to another grab. Then forward throw them again, if they DI back, Fsmash them, if not, go for another grab.

Okay, I'm a Marth n00b who can't beat other Marths. I don't have problems with shiek and fox too much, but I can't seems to get around Marths who just spam random F-smashes and roll around and play defensive. I basically lost to a F-smash buttom masher on a small stage because I couldn't get in range. What are some good ways to advance on another Marth opponent?

Marth's dashdance is amazing. Just dashdance in and out (make sure not to go too far in, Marth isn't that fast) of his range, wait for him to miss, then dash back in and grab.

this tactic seems to work on just about anybody who isn't too floaty. the problem is, if you spike them at a low percentage and they react quickly enough, they can double jump and then upB to recover to the stage. you can counter that by reverse wavedashing to edge hog. At higher percentages they'll bounce too high from the dash attack for you to spike immediately, so I guess you could fair to dair. Also, won't DI screw it up, if they DI back towards the stage or something?

i tried it with my friend and it seems to only work when they are DI-ing away from the stage as you hit them with the dash attack. if they don't di at all or di back towards the stage they will float back above your head and you won't be able to spike
