Hi all,

I'm going to my first Local Smash 4 Friendlies, and was wondering if there's anything I need to keep in mind going there? I guess my main concern is accidentally annoying people with my lack of knowledge of competitive rules (I know about no items and all that kinda stuff, but i'm unsure about the rules of stage picks and character picks). Fortunately i'll be borrowing a GC controller from the Organiser so that's not an issue as well.

Basically I'm just looking for tips, things to keep in mind and how you all felt going to your first local friendlies / tournaments.

Thanks!

Hey fellow Luigi!

I'd think most normal people would be 100% okay with explaining things such as their stage list, general rules, and how things like the stage striking process works. :) Just be polite of course about it, and naturally they would kindly explain how it all goes.

Just relax, ask questions to a TO or another player you're unsure about, and play and learn. I was like 14 I think when I went to my first Brawl local tournament way back around like 2009. They taught me everything I needed to know to help up my game when I asked and proper fighting spacing and fundamentals, all that good stuff.

Just enjoy yourself man, best you can do.
