Link to original post: [drupal=4392]Going to my first pro Melee tournament![/drupal]
Maybe those that have read my previous blogs already know, but I'll be moving to greater Vancouver soon, in fact, this weekend, and come the following weekend is Rotunda 3.0, which will be my first professional Melee tournament.
Since the Summer of '06 when I got whooped for the first time in Melee, I discovered high level play, and was completely hooked, but I lived in Thunder Bay at the time. About 2 years ago I moved to Lethbridge and got to play against good players for my first time.
Before moving, I've had the chance to play an actual pro (Blunted Object) and after getting demolished for 3 days straight, I've improved significantly and gone from going even to dominating the local Melee scene. And over the last three weeks, I've been playing a ton, sharpening my tech skill and understanding. I've been playing matches without dropping stocks.
But BC is the big leagues and I'll be playing at my absolute best in hopes of finishing well. I'm kind of like JesiahTEG is, but we're polar opposites in terms of improvement speed. My goal for Rotunda is making it out of Pools, but I'm confident I can keep pushing further. We'll see what happens. =)
Keep an eye out for me. ;D I'll be the next Sheik and rising very quickly now that I finally have my chance!
