Getting Vids off Youtube

Is there any way I can do this, I see peeps with youtube vids all the time in their combo vids but how?

Here's my method:

1. Get Firefox if you don't have it
2. Install this add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2254
3. Find the video you want to download
4. Go to "Tools" --> "Unplug"
5. On the first link, click "Save"
6. I use 3GP Converter to convert that file to an .avi so I can use/edit it
(get that here: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/3gp_converter.html
pretty simple drag and drop)

nice but...

I have a mac, and the converter is for windows only. is there a converter for macs, or perhaps an alternate method? ive searched the net but all the ways i have tried so far do not work for some reason.

I have no idea. I don't know of an equivalent of the 3GP converter for the Mac. Sorry.

i found a sub-par way. but it workds. I got firefox and that plugin like ye said (thanks for that) and for the .flv files I sent to Zamzar.com and they converted it into .mov files (lots of other file options as well). you only get 24 hours after theyve converted it to download it with the link in your email address. but it works well.

I'm assuming .mov's work with movie maker or Adobe?

if you have realplayer you can download the flvs, then you need a flv converter, just google that theres a free one called flv converter lol

yeah, I saw that one as well. Although for some reason every time I tried to convert a file it never uploaded and converted properly.

If it works for you guys by all means have at it. Yet again if not go with zamzar.

When you use Vixy and you try to edit to vid, it gets messed up. So if you try to make a combo video and you try to get matches off of youtube, if you cut a clip, the whole clip turns green.
