Getting the game discless on a Wii U

So I have played the game for the first time and I love it! Only problem is my brawl disc is broken, I gave my old Wii to a friend, and I am borrowing another friends copy of Brawl which I have to give back tomorrow. I would really like to continue playing this game, but is that possible on my wii u? Or will I have to buy another Brawl disc? I have seen guides on how to play the game without a disc for the wii, but no one has confirmed for me if the methods work on Wii U.
