Getting Stuck (Cant Jump) Out Of Fox Shine

I sometimes get stuck (cant jump) out of fox's shines. The most common cases where i get stuck are:

1. Trying to waveshine backwards (I spin in the shine)
2. Trying to shine right after I waveland off of a platform
3. Mid-air shines

Now I know that when you spin in a shine, it does something with the timing, but i have very little to no problems with using the shine in mid-air to turn around in order to have my back air facing the desired way. I dont understand why i never get stuck in it when i do that, but it only works for me if i jump into the air, if i try to walk off the stage, and try to shine to switch which way im facing, i get stuck in it.

I was wondering if someone has the exact reason preferably with frame data on why I am getting stuck and any advice to not get stuck as often.

Thanks

when on the ground, you can't turn around on the same frame as you jump
in the air, you can

False, fox/falco turn in shine disables jump for 3 frames in BOTH air and ground. However tap jump buffers for 4 frames, so you can actually still turn + jump with single controlstick input by pressing up+away.

Hello and welcome to smashboards! :) Well, frankly, these are all input errors (obviously) and probably come down to lack of muscle memory (assuming your join date is any indicator of your time invested, perhaps not in which case I apologize if that offends.) One HUGE issue I had when i delved into shinetology is practicing without hitting an opponent. I'm sure you know of freeze frames or hit lag but essentially the timing is slightly different and by practicing on the air instead of a target, you may develop incorrect muscle memory and have to recommit that memory to new data once you start integrating it into your matches. It took awhile to adjust, but always do try and practice on a target for fox and falco tech, go into training mode for shine stuff and versus when you integrate aerials into your shine combos (need c-stick) Honestly, it's gonna take some grinding until you can hit these reliably. Once you finally do these once or twice, it'll click and with some practice, and you should be able to do in an instant without thinking. Specifically however, #1.) Is likely due to you simply missing the frame data (up above by another user) for the jump and pressing the analogue turn to early, thus turning you around. Again, go into training mode and slow it down if you need to. #2.) I assume the only issue would be your hands simply not being fast enough, the data is the same and likely the previous inputs before the shine make it more difficult for you. and #3 is genuinly confusing to me, I never had issues with that. Simply press down b with the bottom-ish area of your thumb and let it fall on y (rather quickly of course) and I hit it 100% of the time without any need or warm up. Which brings me to another point, every player has to warm up! Practicing some tech before you attempt to learn new things is essential, don't wanna get frustrated and give up.
