Getting Sonic VS. Shadow to work Need help.

Jsut a question, what files did you rename? just the fitsonic00.pac/pcs or did you also do the fitsonicmotionetc or fitsonicmotion ?

I took Sonic's FitSonic00.pac and pcs, and his FitSonic.pac and FitSonicMotionEtc.pac. And I renamed them to Donkey Kong's file names.

Hmm... I'm trying this out now, and it appears to work jsut fine, specials and all... I have modified files, however.. I put shadow on top of donkey kong instead... the fit().pac is proabbly where the problem lies. with the up-b action it calls for an item specific to Sonic, in his slot, there are still a few things that aren't in brawlbox or psa that are references to other files that really can't be changed without modifying commons...
However, there is a quick fix to this... take the shadow and put it on donkey Kong and sonic on sonic of course. it worked for me, but I'm not sure what shadow you're using.

Okay I made a video showing that there were 2 suggestions that people have made that I should try. I show in this video that they don't work the way they should.

I think that the only way we can truly get this to work is to modify Donkey Kong's pac and make his moves as close to Shadow's as possible. I'm not making them like Sonic's moves because Sonic has an article and those are hard to port over to other characters. It'll take me awhile to do but if it works I'll release it so that we can finally have it to where Sonic and Shadow can fight and to where their movesets aren't the same.

Mind sending that Shadow our way buddy? That's sounds very useful for future porjects, and plus gives me a reason to kick DK out of the game like I've wanted to. I may even manage to make Hyper Sonic a separate character now. >:3

Unless he tweaked Donkey Kong's PAC in a certain way to make Shadow's moveset work on him it doesn't work. I just demostrated in my latest video that putting Shadow's files in Donkey Kong's folder and renaming them doesn't work fully and needs a lot of work still.

im suprised just renaming the pac would do this but it only works on certain chracters pacs
I know, I was surprised too of how closely it clones Sonic's moveset. It's too bad that the main moves that Sonic uses don't work with this method.

Well duh. Of course it doesn't work, why would it? O_o

He obviously tweaked around in PSA to get it to work, and I surely plan on doing the same thing if he sends the files. :3

Okay I propose that the only way for this to work is that we start trying to see if we can port custom made characters over other characters. Like say we take Donkey Kong and replace his model with Shadow's and then replace his animations with Shadow's. Then we should try and start testing out to see if we edit Donkey Kong's PSA to work like Shadow's PSA if it comes out the same or almost the same. If this works then we'll be able to take custom characters and put them over certain other characters to make it so that the original version of the character can fight against it's custom hacked one. Who wants to help me with this?!

No I was saying that more people want Roy as a separate character than they want Shadow to be a separate character from Sonic. I also didn't think Wolf was that popular either and I don't play as him so I decided to try him first and also I found that Roy runs properly on Wolf to where he doesn't get the snap-back glitch so that means both their transN bones are the same.

Any interest in Roy has been pretty much dead since he was finished, and most people are satisfied with just replacing the gay man who stole his spot in the first place.

I hope you at least enjoy it, because I don't see people replacing Wolf anytime soon. I personally won't be since he's one of my Primary Mains. ¦D

Apparently you haven't been looking around lately at threads that are related to the clone engine. The question or the hope that Roy and Marth can fight against each other in brawl always comes up.

How is it that you got it to work? I replaced everything concerned to Roy and changed it into Wolf on his current folder and my game stops loading when I pick the Stage.

No no no. That's not what I did, I just tested Roy on Wolf by just taking Wolf's 00 pac and then putting Roy's model over his model. Then it worked but it had Wolf's moves and animations, then i tried roy's animations and it works with those too. Now the next step is to open the fit pac and edit his moves to be like Roy's.

Edit: Also I'm planning on porting Roy to someone else that most people wouldn't mind replacing which might be Ganondorf.

If you all get this to work 100%, the addition of Knuckles over Diddy would be nice (I say Diddy because then you could change the DK symbol to be the same as Sonic's)

i tryed putting link over toon link its works except for a few glitches(bombs are faulty and don;t blow up right and his chain is messed up when you try to grab other than that it works all the same)

I said most, not all. I'm well aware that Marth has plenty of weird fanboys/fangirls who still want him in the game for whatever reason. Oh, and that Marth mains do too. Forgot they existed. XD

Edit: Also I'm planning on porting Roy to someone else that most people wouldn't mind replacing which might be Ganondorf.

I tried porting sonic over olimar but instead I got olimar with sonic's animations

I tried putting Sonic over Olimar. It kind of works, but the attacks suck since some of them are Olimar's (his recovery, his AA). It also still had Olimar's sounds, but there were no Pikmin when I did it.

link over tl is really good so can make link vs zero possible
Yeah I've done that. It works for the most part, the clawshot just doesn't work and you can't throw people. I tried putting Zero on TL and yes it works except for those glitches.

do you think you could send me the files?
EDIT: never mind i figured it out.
you also cant do any pummel attacks, and toon link's hookshot pops up sometimes and zero has a wierd t-stance glitch when you try to grab in the air.
I'll upload a vid tomorrow showing this stuff
I also might be able to fix the throwing and pummeling problem

Wait whuuuuuuuut!? i tried just that and it failed for me... so what did you do exactly to put link over toon link, cause regular link would be SUPER... and to have sonic versus shadow would be PERFECT. man just how did you do that to toon link, i will put ZERO over LINK but to have an original Link over the ****** version, well the game wasn't bad but he's cheap. would be a nice thing to have.
