we just started a scene so we don't really charge venue. Even though it's more like $3 pot $2 venue

That should be perfect then, just ask for a standard 3-5 dollar equipment fee, and waive it if they bring their own set-up.

it might be a little steep for the regulars that come as of current. Our situation is pretty humble but I can hold a poll or something.

3 dollars on top of the 5, I guess? I was talking about it to the store manager and someone stepped in saying 8 bucks would be too high. I guess I could always host a poll at the next tourney.

It's more like 3 to the pot and 2 to the venue. But in the future I'm homing to increase it as we meet higher standards.
