Ok Falco pros, I have a problem with Falco's phantasm. I'm trying to perform his second phantasm cancel, but I just don't have the timing for it. Is there a specific thing I need to do before it can be done? Or is it just the timing?
If some of you are asking what I'm talking about, Falco can cancel his illusion into a shorter version. This makes for helpful recoveries and general mindgames. Now from what I've experienced, there is 2 points in which you can cancel the illusion. One is right after the ping which makes the phantasm really short show in this vid at 01:01 - 01:05. This one is really easy to do and I can do it EVERY phantasm if I needed to.

The one I need to know how to perform is the second point in which you can cancel a phantasm. It makes the phantasm shorter, but not as short as the first point, and is not as long as a simple non cancelled phantasm. I don't know of any vids that shows just this trick alone and so I have no example to show you guys aside from the description :urg: If I find a vid that shows it I'll edit this post with it.

So thats it, some help please?

I thought you could cancel the phantasm during any of the five frames (or however many frames the move lasts)

It all based on timing, if you push it anytime during the actual phantasm thats when it will stop, so perfect the timing of how long after the ping(the way I time it) and you should get used to controling how far you go!

Its all just timing and practice, I can get nearly any distance I want , quite consistently.
