according to the link the first delay was to try and work out a deal with Suare Enix to get get Geno in brawl, but in the end no deal was made. Why do corporations only care aboput money and not their customers (talking about square not nintendo).

Lol people are taking this for truth right and left. It's obviously a dumb rumor... but either way Squeenix is a company by and for *******s. They are definitely to blame for Geno's absence. That, or Sakurai didn't want 5 Mario reps.

Hard to say really. They didn't care for M&L, so what would the problem be now. Also, looking at the roster, it seems fine without an extra character. But at the same time, 36 would will the game in the SSE screen.

Ive had inside information for a while now, I said Geno didnt make it and there was no animal crossing character.

Geno wasnt on the list at all. Infact they only considered makeing him an assist trophy.
But since he was 3rd party and nintendo had to pay for him they decided not to in the early stages of developement.

It wouldn't be surprising if it was true.

And even if it is, think about it for a minute. If this was true, there could be unused data of an almost complete/completed Geno. Games always leave behind unused data. What's to say that hackers can not find and play as Geno?
