sorry if its been debunked or posted

http://wii.qj.net/Rumor-Square-Enix-reason-behind-Brawl-delay-/pg/49/aid/112770

Quote:

"The latest delay, in fact, had its Japanese version pushed back a few weeks, and the North American version an entire month or so. Ouch.

And as helpful as the Smash Bros. Dojo website updates that Masahiro Sakurai, the developer in charge of Brawl, churns out, we never really got to find out just why. "

It seems like we might still get a super secret character.

Maybe.....

well i actually see the possibility in another char in the american version... i think the japanese version was already finished in december, and during all that time until march 9 there a possibility of a clone or even a new char... it would be good:bee:

I'm of the opinion that the localization team for American Brawl was running late and needed more time to translate all the text in the game. Yea, I know it's a fighting game nearly devoid of text, but there's the trophy, sticker, stage builder, SSE, etc. text to be translated as well as the normal names and whatnot.

Or, perhaps they delayed it because America probably has a lot more preorders than Japan due to the higher population here (I think?) and they wanted time to produce more copies so they wouldn't run into a huge shortage like there is now in Japan?

But would they make a character JUST for the American version? I know I'm not the only one to notice the favoritism that Nintendo plays to the Japanese market. I, for one, find it difficult to believe that just the American consumers would get their hands on Geno. Unless there was a Wii Shop download for a character patch containing Geno. Still a bit out there, but not totally impossible.

To surmise, I'd LIKE to believe it, but I personally don't.

i think he 35 roster is fine but 1 more addition wont hurt

but i dont think we'll get another character
and the reasonings like the off-aligned random character selection isnt a good enough reason

and i thought hal lab didnt make this smash

How about the fact that the Japanese version would thus be incompatible with the American version, and would then not be able to play each other online if Geno were used? That alone is all the proof you need to denounce this rumor.

Maybe they're trying to find a way to remove both Lucas and Marth, since they never been on a US release. Because they were also incorporated in SSE, they would need to change these sequences also.

D-toid? Never heard of it. FFX summon, actually. Well, where I got it from.

And besides, Hal Lab didn't make Brawl. An unnamed group of developers that worked on Grandia III developed it. Still, they wouldn't throw us a bone like that. It'd be nice if they did, but it won't happen.

well I don't think that cross region wi-fi is practical or even possible, probably is . . .

anyway, a new character is laughable, but there could always be SOMETHING different in the game aside from language. Last time people here played the US demo (E4ALL I guess) there was a way to cancel lag by ff'ing before the aerial. Then in the japanese demo is was supposedly absent, and now it is absent in the final japanese version. Is it possible that many of the things possible in the E4ALL demo would be possible in the US version?

I remember that the PAL melee had some tweaks, right?

just a thought, I'll be happy with whatever game I get in march

Removing Marth and Lucas? There's no way that's the reason. Marth slipped into Melee and gained tons of popularity yet no one had seen him before. He's one of the top characters played in tournaments and by casual players alike. Sakurai wouldn't drop both of them in favor of two characters that the Japanese version wouldn't get. The incompatibility issue also makes quite a bit of sense. But then again, character packages on the Wii Shop aren't impossible.

Umm. What?

I honestly doubt that, seeing as they kept Marth in Melee, there'd be no earthly reason to remove him.

I also doubt a chareter being added.
Chances are it's production of more disks so we don't wind up short. I mean, there's no other real reason, not much Voice acting or text that would cause much of a delay. They probly have to code the Japanese and Eglish languages into the game too.

Thread #5 about this...

Seriously, stop it. It's just a rumor that has very little ground to it and false reporting claims. Geno was not the #1 most requested character, it was DeDeDe, get over it.
