Generic GameCube controllers

Does anybody actually use those generic GameCube controllers in tournaments? I bought my little brother a white generic GameCube controller off eBay for 6$, the really cheap kind.I tried using it against a level 9 marth and I got completely rekt.I couldn't wave dash because the shoulder buttons are awkward and soft feeling but I must add that the analog stick makes it very easy to dash dance. The buttons themselves are also very awkward feeling but I got a bit used to it after a few matches and can now defeat the level 9 CPU's with ease. The official purple GameCube controller that I own is much easier to use than the generic white, but does anyone use this controller consistently? For me it's impossible, just a thought.

Nobody does. It's widely known that any controller that's not an official one is terrible for smash.

The Smashboards store sells normal controllers :). I plan on getting like 4 of them soon. Although I have no idea how the Smashboards store gets their controllers.

Man I was thinking why dont people just buy these controllers they're so cheap lol ,glad I didn't use these at tournaments, you get what you pay for & I'd rather spend the extra cash than set myself up for controller failure, I still would love to see someone be technical and good with the generics though THAT would be a sight to see.

That's kind of like saying "I'd love to see someone perform heart surgery with a butter knife and duct tape." I mean, professionals use professional equipment. I'd love to see how Hax would perform with a fight stick tailored for melee.
