Ganon's sword and PSA

I'm trying to change Ganon so the the Melee sword is used for costumes 9-14 (I'm using cBliss obviously) but I have no real idea how to use PSA. I've found the Sub Action (1C0) but I don't know how to change the If Compare from >=5 to (I'm assuming it would be) >=8.

Another possibility: If I only want the Melee sword for 5 of Ganon's costumes would it be possible to simply export the model data for each sword in Brawl Box then swap them to make it so Ganon's first 5 costmes use the melee sword and the rest use the twilight sword? This isn't optimal but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I'd really love if someone could give me some help or at least point me in the right direction as I'll have to take similar measures for some other characters down the line. Thanks!

I believe the other option would be possible, but as you put it, not optimal. However, it should be fairly easy to change the comparison.

In order to do this in PSA, you would double click on the line where it says "If Compare: LA-Basic[54] >=5". In the new window that pops up, click on variable, at the end of the list, and change the number in there to whatever costume you want to be the start of the sword. So if FitGanon08.pac/.pcs was the first melee ganon outfit, you would change it from 5 to 8.

The locations you would need to do this for are Sub Action 1C0 under the Misc tab, like you already found. In addition, it also makes this check in Sub Action 3A, under the GFX tab in the first line. If you were to do this for both of those, then Ganon's melee sword should only show up for outfits at that number and beyond.
