So I have been struggling against Ganondorf players recently and the only way I've found effective of beating them out is lots of grabs and tech-chasing since regular juggling combos seem to just get me stomped (literally). Any tips for this matchup would be greatly appreciated.

When Ganons are zoning against marth they tend to do fade back Fairs so in order to beat that you can over extend a nair which will lead into a juggle situation depending on the DI.

Also Ganon is sloooow so when you get grabbed it's almost always advantageous to DI their Down throws behind them and then tech away. Don't get predictable though, when they catch on you can mix up DI behind to tech inward.

Marth's use of the Dtilt as a zoning tool in this MU is diminished due to ganon's slow ground movement, but be wary of those ganons who love to waveland towards you into jab or grab or whatever because an anticipatory Dtilt shuts that strategy down.

Up throw is great to start a juggle situation as long as you are patient and watch to see how they use (or don't use) their Double jump.

I hope this helps a little.

If you are getting attacked for trying to attack Ganon in the air you are either:
A) having bad timing.
B) over extending.

Marth's sword beats out anything Ganon can do in the air. If you time your attack well you will hit ganon despite him trying to attack you. By over extending yourself I mean trying to use a move when you probably should not be. For example, its very easy for Ganon to 2nd jump over your (jump aerial) at him. With you missing due to his 2nd jump he can counter the situation with his attack.

If Ganon is coming back down to the stage from high up do not try to full hop or 2nd jump up to him with an aerial. You can get countered with him 2nd jumping or using air dodge. Only do so if you can guarantee the hit such as when he is in hitstun. Otherwise, Ganon using a 2nd jump or air dodge does not mean much if you are falling down to the ground. You can use an aerial and fast fall to the ground and recover faster than ganon can 2nd jump up and use an aerial himself.

Fade Fair from Ganon pretty much does nothing to you. Any time he does it he puts himself closer to the ledge and cannot keep doing it indefinitely. Otherwise, he is offstage and good thing for you :D I believe the point in doing it is because its harder to punish directly and Ganon would prefer you to rush in and try to punish him only to get punished back for overextending. Suppose Ganon Fair -> Shield. You come in with a Nair and he shields the moves. Get grabbed (or SH -> Bair). Or he can simply do Fair -> Jab.

I thought Marth was light enough to never be able to tech. Plus, i believe at high percents ganon starts to get some guaranteed stuff on Marth depending upon DI. Don't remember the exact details.
