I thought this might be relevant, since Kirbopher is very well known in the Smash community.

For those of you unaware, Kirbopher created the famous "Brawl Taunts" flash series on Newgrounds, which has been quoted to death since it's inception. He also works on various other things, such as the unofficial spin-off of Did You Know Gaming, "Did You Know Voice Acting".

He recently played Smash Bros Wii U/3DS at the Nintendo World Store, and had a long discussion on GameXplain about it.

Beyond people possibly being interested since he's so well known, he did share a tidbit that we've never heard about:

When he was playing Smash Run on the 3DS version, one of the NWS employees said something that he likely was not supposed to tell anyone - that in Smash Run, boss characters can appear, similar to how Dyna Blade showed up in City Trial in Kirby Air Ride. He claimed one of them is going to be Kraid from the Metroid series, and that another was going to be "one of the boss Kremlings" from the Donkey Kong games.

He also teased that he has "something in mind" for when Smash 4 releases, similar to Brawl Taunts.

(The majority of the video discusses the Wii U version, so that's why I put it here - plus it seems better for General stuff to go here, as it's the more popular board).

Well, if we're getting a "Smash 4 Taunts", then I hope there's Miiverse jokes. That place is a meme in of itself.

I'd think the "Kremling boss" isn't K. Rool, since he would definitely recognize him. It's probably Klubba or Kudgel, if I had to make an educated guess.

As far as Kraid being a Smash Run boss, I wouldn't read much into Ridley debate (trying to beat the speculation on this one). Stage boss =/= Smash Run boss.

Second thought on the bosses in Smash Run bit: were those just left out intentionally of the E3 demos? Seems like a weird thing to leave out of the demo. The Nintendo rep guy may not have known what he was talking about.

I remember that leak that was taken out. that K. rool is a boss. Now, Who really the boss of the Kremlins....

I hope this guy is the boss and not K. Rool. K. Rool is a better playable villain, C'mon is a King a Like Bowser and King dedede. Size don't matter, lots of minions and there pretty stupid(and memorable and we love it).

I believe I saw a video with Bonkers from Kirby playing out in what looked like a boss kind of way, I can't remember where exactly I saw it.

Oh I just watched that video about an hour ago. It'd be neat to see those bosses in Smash Run. I agree with a lot of what he said in the video, too.

I'd kinda laugh if K.Rool was a boss to be honest... at least he'd be getting some recognition. Granted, it could very well be Klump/Krusha/Kudgel, but K.Rool isn't out of the question.

I personally find boss characters in higher esteem than Assist Trophies, so I really don't mind characters like Ridley or K.Rool as bosses. The former was one of my favourite bosses in Brawl.

Either way, I hope Smash Run has a ton of bosses, and as Kirbopher said, I hope characters like Dr. Wily and Dr. Eggman are bosses.

Just watched that video it was a okay video minus alot of their dumb statements about competive smash and melee players.

I don't think Smash Run bosses are going to be important characters as such. Thus far we know of Bonkers and Bulborb (saw the latter as a "target" in a Smash Run video), if they chose more important enemies for these roles they'd probably have chosen someone like Nightmare and King Bulborb instead of those two respectively. They are iconic though, and because of this Kraid fits neatly, he's not really terribly important. I'd be worried about his size considering how tight many of the Smash Run rooms are, but I guess that depends on where he spawns. I don't think it's an ideal role for K. Rool or Ridley though, if anything Ridley is already a stage boss on Pyrosphere anyways.

The only thing that irks me with this whole "Smash Run boss" thing is that I'm not sure whether or not the source is legible.
Now, I'm not saying Kirbopher is lying or anything, but it feels strange to think that some random employee just walked up and said "By the way, Kraid is a boss along with a Kremling." It could just be me being a pessimist, but I can't say I believe the story.

Well, at least it was better than calling us "Stop Having Fun Guys" like some do.

From what I've heard (living in Denmark, couldn't participate myself) some Nintendo reps were actually rather chatty. Could be that one of the Nintendo reps that was at the 3DS booth was mistaken on what content was in the demo.

Yeah, I remember some of the employees being chatty.
Though being mistaken would probably be the case. Unless said employee said that to stir up some speculation.

Either could have happened really, it's not like he has a risk of getting caught anyways, people will forever only know him as "the Nintendo rep."

Well, I feel that if people are willing to believe that Ganondorf showed up in the demo through a random button glitch, I feel they can believe this too.

I guess.
Then again, Amazing Ampharos once said a kid found Ganondorf. So anything is possible at this point.

I don't understand and don't have time to watch the video now, why does he talk about bosses? And why do you talk about him like he actually has some info we don't (Kraid being a boss for example)?

Smash Run popped up.

According to the man, a Nintendo World employee gave him "info" about Kraid and a major Kremling (he didn't specify, but it's assumed to be either K. Rool or Klubba). Honestly I don't believe the story myself, but that's why.

Umh get it. Well I don't know why he would lie, honestly. Not that what he says is crazy or anything.

By the sounds of it, it's not Kirbopher who is the fibber here. He just doesn't sound like the kind of guy who would.
Said employee on the other hand could be the culprit. Now, I'm not saying that he could be wrong, he could be right for all we know. But it does sound suspicious how he picked this one guy to say something that we didn't pick up ourselves. If he was in the demo, then we would have pictures by now (unless employees get a newer build for some reason).

To be fair it could of just been an absent-minded comment made by the rep in excitement or just the rep not thinking about what has been said, it's possible he may have known something that wasn't in the demo and may not have been thinking when he said it. It's very very easy when your handed information to say things about it that may not be a good idea but doesn't have actual malicous intent.

It's why many workplaces including where I work spent a lot of tiime heavily pressing the 'watch what you say about your job in public' situation because it is so easy to blurt things out without thinking.

Yeah it's not uncommon for PR guys or employees at these gaming events to blurt out things without thinking, true or false.

I remember a PR guy for Sonic Colours said that the reason Sonic changes shape when absorbing the energy of the Wisps is because he has a bizarre and unstable molecular structure that makes it possible for him to change form, and is also the reason things like the Werehog transformation are possible.

However, none of the developers of Sonic games have ever mentioned anything remotely echoing this. Yet people accept it as canon, even though it sounds more like a headcanon to me. It's a cool one, but I feel like the employee made the comment as a joke or something.

Going back to Smash Run bosses, I think it might be true, but I definitely don't think the rep was supposed to mention it.
