GameXplain made a small video about how the C-stick work on the New3DS and it showed a very interresting change, compared to the previous version of the game:

in plus of using it for simple smash attacks you can also use it for:
-charged Smash attacks
-mid-air attacks

The more interesting question for me is, can you set it to do the tilts, like in Brawl?

Because I can't tilt for **** in the Circle Pad.

Not sure how i'd like having it above the buttons like that. The main use i had for the c-stick was down smashes, which was just me slamming my thumb down on the cstick as it passed by that area.

Still dont get why they havent just implemented two straight up pads/control sticks. Having two real sticks enables shooters on your console, which is a LOT of games.

you can deactivate the smash on the Circle Pad in the control setting (not in the demo, tough), so Yes?

As far as I have seen, all the people who have tried say it is great. IMO, I think it's an improvement, as it is right next to the attack buttons and you have to barely move your finger to do what you want to do. If you set the special and normal attack to the X and Y buttons, you have basically everything right under your thumb.

It will probably take some getting used to, but I'm sure the new c-stick will make life a lot easier.

Somehow, I always mess up my Smash Attack and my moves come out as tilts far too often. This C-stick will be a long needed welcome.

I wonder if X and Y lags in 3D Mode with the New3DS

Opposite problem for me lol.

Tilts have always been difficult to me. I can do downtilts but the rest i tend to struggle with, which is a shame since most of them are pretty damn strong (Lucario's utilt can juggle people at low percentages with ease, almost never get it off because i accidentally smash up)

Honestly, I would have preferred that Smash 3DS was for the New 3DS. Because we all know that everyone with the c-stick is gonna have an edge online.

It just looks un-comfortable with how high up and how small that C-Stick is.
Seeing the video, I disagree. It actually look like you'll have to do far much less contortion to use that c-stick than your usual second analogue stick.

I disagree. Never used the C stick in any smash and I have no problem making accurate smash attacks on the 3DS. Using a C stick won't make landing a smash attack online with lag any easier.
