Is anybody here planning on joining the gamestop tournament as Ike? In case you haven't read the general discussion article, here's what I've gathered:
1. Beginning Characters Only (Ike would be selectable)
2. 1 Minute Match (I'm assuming score)
3. Wiimotes + Nunchucks only
4. 1v1 Matches, 32 Players
With that in mind, as much as Ike has fared MUCH better in multi-man matches and free-for-alls under my experience, does anybody have anything to suggest? I've been playing as Ike for a main since the second day of Brawl's Japanese release (you might have seen me around the Ike boards, contributing/debunking/debating), so I'm fairly confident in my skills (considering hopefully that nobody else has gotten similar playtime, and not to mention two of my friends who've played with me should also attend for insurance).
This is a list of things I'm going to try to keep in mind (feel free to contribute/debate!):
1. Avoid using laggier moves vs. quicker characters, and/or punish their mistakes.
2. Use Ike's SAF and heavy weight in order to stay alive, but make sure to still avoid damage whenever possible.
3. Practice with the Wiimote/Nunchuck (I was hoping I'd never have to use it =( )
4. Learn the 'safe' distances and spots for Ike's moves, and *becoming familiar with Ike's quick draw distances*
