- Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled
A game from my childhood that I was hyped to see a remaster/remake of. And it delivered on everything and was better than I could have ever hoped for. More characters, all the tracks from Nitro Kart as well as brand new tracks designed by the brilliant minds at Beenox, online, kart customization, and gorgeous graphics with updated designs for the tracks that make them look better and livelier than ever.
-Xenoblade 2
I got this game the day after Pyra/Mythra were announced and I had no clue what I was getting into. I jumped into it blind and man, I absolutely fell in love with this game. I do say that I love a lot of games, but this one is truly something special. The characters, story, and world sucked me in to an extent that most other games have not reached. And let me tell you, by the end of my 60 hour journey, I was sad that it was over and the ending made me so emotional. Like it made me cry harder than any other medium has ever accomplished. The cutscenes from the last 4 chapters are some of the most thoughtful and touching scenes I've ever witnessed. And on top of it all, the gameplay is amazing once you understand it and it is accompanied by one of my top 3 favorite OSTs. Despite the game having plenty of problems I can't help but praise it for all the things it does right, and even after beating the game months ago I'm still thinking about it often. It's one of the most memorable experiences I've had the pleasure of going through.
-Saints Row 3
I beat this game randomly one night with a friend. I slowly got through it and it's a blast. What can I say? It's Saint Rows. Plenty of humor, random shenanigans to get yourself caught in, and lots and lots of awesome weapons including a god dam land shark.
-Xenoblade 1
After playing through the second game, I just had to try out the original. After processing everything from the second game, I bought this game on the Switch. From the start I instantly liked it and it has many of the same elements that I enjoyed from Xenoblade 2 (Naturally). Now as a whole I didn't quite fall in love with this game as much as I did with XC2. I don't know what it is about that game, but there's something that gripped me to it unlike anything else. Still, I was able to appreciate XC1 for what it is, and for what it delivers, it's an amazing game. A lovable cast of characters and a consistently good story, not to mention a simpler combat system which I appreciate. I don't have quite as much to say about this one, it's just an exquisite experience and I can see why many people fell in love with it and prefer it to the second game.
-Dynasty Warriors Gundam
This is the game that got me into Musou games and Gundam as a whole. I've been playing the second game and thinking back to this game, it does have some flaws. Now of course seeing as I finished it with 60 hours total, I clearly enjoyed my time with it. But there were some nitpicks I have with the game. Mostly the fact that even on the easy setting the commanders are quite damage spongy. And comparing it to the second game there's no competition. The sequel is faster, prettier, has more enemies on screen, and the bosses don't take an eternity to defeat. Now I can't beat up this game too much because it is an earlier Musou game and it does have the advantage of having a better original mode with more entertaining character interactions. Still though, I can't imagine going back to this one much after seeing what the sequels and other Musou games offer.
