Another year of gaming's gone by. Quite a bit's been released. While, yes, we have the what games should I buy thread, I sort of wanted to make one for last year specifically. Not a thread to help choose a game someone needs, but just a casual thread to put out games you really enjoyed that was new over the past year. (And yes, there's a fine line on what list topics feel acceptable or are just spam)

For me it's:

Splatoon
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Majora's Mask 3D
Mega Man Legacy Collection

There's also Trails in the Sky SC and Trails of Cold Steel released in 2015. But I'd recommend checking out Trails in the Sky FC first since the order does matter and it's the first game for the Trails series.

While it's amazing I still had money for all of these here's my list

Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth
Persona 4 Arena
Fire Emblem Awakening
Shin Megami Tensei IV
Animal Crossing New Leaf
Pokemon Alpha Sapphire

I also replayed Metroid Prime 3 and I unlocked the secret ending

If we're talking exclusively about 2015 releases, then Splatoon and Super Mario Maker are the only two that I distinctly remember and would recommend to people.

If past releases are allowed, then Fire Emblem Awakeningggggg. I will shove my unwavering support for the Fire Emblem franchise into each and every person I meet.

Fire Emblemmmmmm! :4robinm::4lucina::4corrin::4corrinf::4robinf::4feroy::4marth::4myfriends:

I'd recommend Shadowrun: Hong Kong if you like a good cyberpunk story. Solid mechanics, too. Shadowrun: Dragonfall is also absolutely worth playing.

I'd recommend The Witcher 3 as well, since I think it's one of the best RPGs in a long time (and probably the best open world RPG to date), but I think my enjoyment of it was magnified by having some experience with the rest of the series. Though, a lot of people who've never played/read The Witcher do seem to love 3 anyway.

Rare Replay. Saved me from spending ridiculous amounts of money on older games.

Hm... Made in 2015? Then, personally, I'd recommend:

Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires: A great sandbox game with excellent replay-ability. There's character customization put into detail with many options. Along with all move-sets and each being unique; so there's a lot of variety you can choose from. Then there's empire mode, where you can play as an empire to shape your own kingdom, engaging in wars and politics with other kingdoms, or play as a wandering mercenary and serve a kingdom instead. There's just a whole lot you can do with the game and that's not even including the DLC. Would definitely recommend to anyone, fan to the series or not.

Personally, my favorite aspect of the game is empire mode because you get to shape your own kingdom and stabilize it politically and add a lot of planning to it. It makes the point of empire mode more strategic and less risky for any battle from any kingdom, whether they're invading or defending.

Yeah I didn't really play a lot of games made this year so that's all I got.

For wide appeal, I'd say Super Mario Maker. It's pretty intuitive to use and I've found it easy to accidentally sink hours into it just tinkering with stages or playing them online. Definitely fun.

For more genre stuff I'd say Metal Gear Solid V, Batman Arkham Knight (if you played Asylum and City. Origins is optional), and I'm having trouble remembering what else came out in 2015 and what I just picked up later :/

But definitely those 3

I'm really shocked no one's mentioned Bloodborne yet. I bought it over winter break and wow, it feels so good. The combat is satisfying and deep, the artstyle and enviornments are complex, haunting and beautiful, and there are plenty of improvements over the Souls games (which I personally never got super into). It feels fast and fun. I'm enjoying the game so much and I haven't gotten close to beating the first boss yet; I definitely think it's a great buy.

Yeah, Bloodborne was one of my favorites last year, and it's my 2nd favorite Souls game (right behind Demon's). I didn't really mention it since I figure that anyone who'd be into it has played already. That, or they plan on playing it at some point.

Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is pretty good if you were disappointed by how underwhelming Gates to Infinity is.

Other than that, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D and Undertale are pretty good games as well
