Gameplay checklist

So you turn on your 3DS, start Smash, pick a character and begin. What do you look for first? What is your Smash checklist?

Here is mine: I pick a fast character like Captain Falcon or Fox and try to dash dance then jump to see if momentum is transfered from dash to jump. Then I try to down air close to the ground and see what the landing lag is like. (of course testing if there is l-canceling in the process.) next I'll test my throws and see what kind of follow-ups are possible. Finally I will test whether or not I can cancel out of hit stun like I could in Brawl, hoping that I can't.

That's it. If it passes that test I will officially call it a 100% success! What is your gameplay checklist?

Lying about my country.
As long as my opponent doesn't recover from my attacks before my attack's animation is even over, I can't see myself not fully enjoying this game.

Anyway, I'll just play some 1v1 matches against CPUs trying out every stage, item, and character, whatever checklist I have won't be fully crossed until I tried out everything.

Basically just checking for how much hitstun appears to be present in the game. I'm not much for the specifics of the game though, so I'll just do a run of classic with a character I know very well and compare how that feels to past entries.

Play the game, enjoy the game, ignore theory until I adjust to the mechanics, stages, and roster. Once I and my friends have learned the major changes, then we can delve into the more complicated stuff.

I'm just checking to see if I find the characters enjoyable or if I am having fun playing them and if their attacks suit my style. Not worrying about advanced techniques or anything like that. Just if they feel right for me and how I play.

So my checklist is:
- Play Link and Toon Link and see if I still prefer Toon Link or if Link has redeemed himself.
- Play all the new characters to see how they feel and who I want to play more and learn better.
- Play all the old characters to see if they feel any different and if anyone has joined the ranks of my growing roster of characters I enjoy playing (for example, a lot of characters I didn't like in Melee magically became more fun for me in Brawl).

I'm most interested in seeing how characters with new moves have changed. Specifically: Pit, Charizard, Bowser, etc. Zelda & Sheik too, though I have played Zelda (and loved her).

I will also most likely be spending a lot of time playing Classic & Smash Run to unlock the Custom Moves so I can see what they are all about.

If Wario is a starter, upon the game starting I will hit training mode, pick a training dummy... walk up, and fart to the tune of Also sprach Zarathustra. I did this exact same thing in Brawl.

Other than that, just a Classic playthrough on Mario on default difficulty (or lower, because the 0.0 enemy creature is endearing) just to get used to the general handling of the game, and go by whimsy from there.

Since Robin and Palutena are starters, I will play them hell out of them while I unlock cool stuff in the game.

Couldn't care less about whatever dance or wut cancelling, really.
