Smash Wii U Gamepad can't use touchscreen for menu selections

I noticed while using the Gamepad that it works the same as the other controllers in the main menu. You can't touch the icons on the touch screen to select them.

It's a real shame. Not that it actually takes anything away from the game, though. I'm still loving it.

Anyone else notice this?

The only thing I catch myself doing EVERY TIME is trying to press the Create button in Stage Builder.

It's basically the same thing that happened when we found out we couldn't use the Wii remote to point at the screen in Brawl (nor this game)

I'd mind this a little less if the 3DS version didn't let you do this.

I just wish it was usable for name entry, it's really awkward to use the old texting layout
