Smash Wii U Gamepad Camera Option

The only issue I had with taking pictures in Smash was that it disrupted the flow of the game. But what if there were an option to take pictures on the Gamepad screen without effecting the match on the tv screen?

With this Gamepad camera mode, there are two streams of the game happening independently of each other. The one on the tv and the one on the Gamepad. This allows a player who isn't fighting to use the Gamepad to take pictures of the match without pausing it.

With the Gamepad having an independent stream, this allows the person to pause, rewind and fast forward the footage without the tv players even noticing. Miss a beautiful picture of a Falcon Punch? No problem, just rewind the Gamepad footage and snag a picture of it. Your friends complaining about the constant pausing for taking pictures for your album? No worries, just switch to the Gamepad camera and take as many pictures as you want without them even noticing.

When the match ends on the tv, a "Save Replay?" notice will pop up on the Gamepad instead of automatically fast forwarding you to the results screen footage. So now you can go back to your replay and have the same pause/rewind control to take pictures of any moment you missed. And of course there would be an option to edit those replays to save just a small section of it.

Not only does this give a fun option for the "5th man" to do something while they wait, but it could allow for some unique pictures/recordings during tournaments. It has always been impossible to snap pictures during a huge match, but how awesome would it be if there was a way you finally could?

I can imagine saving the footage like I think you can in mario kart 8 (not sure since I havent played it, just watched other people play it) but I don't think it would work otherwise. I think it would tax the system a bit.

That would require the game to be rendered for two different images every frame. It might not be possible to maintain 60 FPS that way.

Can you elaborate on this? I think I'm just being stupid and not getting what you're saying haha. I mean you can play Mario Kart 8 on the GamePad no problem, though I don't know if that's in 60 fps or not

The Gamepad itself isn't the problem. Rendering multiple screens is. For the same reason, Mario Kart 8 runs in 60 FPS in single player but at 30 in 3- and 4-player splitscreen.

Well don't they offer co-op this way in Hyrule Warriors? One player gets the TV while the other uses the gamepad screen?
There are plenty of games using different feeds on the tv and Gamepad that is can't be an issue.

Hyrule Warriors runs at 30 FPS. It's a lot easier.
