Gamecube to usb adapter

I'm using an old gamecube to usb adapter I got a while back. I believe it's called super joy box 13 by mayflash.

I'm currently using it to setup with dolphin but I'm having trouble getting the L-R buttons to work correctly. They only register when I press them all the way down which messes up my game for me. Does anyone have experience on what to do and how to setup this adapter correctly?
