Do you think, now that the wii is out, Nintendo shall be making price cuts to its gamecube games like when they made price cuts to N64 games. If not why?
You may say disks, or because iys backward compatible, but keep in mind that so was the p21-ps2...

A price cut on what? Pretty much most of the games are already 20 bucks. You mean a price cut as in taking it down to 10 dollars? No, I don't think that'll happen. Not for a bit, at least.

My reasoning for this is that they just released a Zelda game on the console. Thus, many MANY people will buy it just for that alone (if they hadn't already bought it for WW). Then, while they're playing the 'cube, they'll think 'OK, might as well check out other games.' Nintendo wants to cash in on these 'other games'.

I've always found it funny how GameCube game prices stay at $50 for so long. Metroid Prime 2 was $50 until just recently. Same with Mario Strikers. I would've bought Mario Strikers if it would've dropped in price sooner, but it didn't.

I'm not really surprised. If they wait until the Wii comes out, the people who wanted some of those games forget them and buy the Wii. Then they figure out the Wii can play Gamecube games. So Nintendo cuts prices on GameCube games so people will want to buy more so they can finally play them on their new Wii. Bait n' switch sales technique that people will fall for if they usually buy on impulse.

Wait a minute, I just went over what I did in Economics class.

Funny, cause I remember Prime 2 dropping down to 20 dollars about 5 or 6 months after it's release! Maybe even sooner.

And Player's choice version of Smash was 20 dollars. But they ended up taking it off the players choice and raised the price back to 30 new. Smash is a system seller. So it's enough to keep the game at the 30 dollar mark. Not to expensive, not to cheap.

Not too many price cuts. LoZ: TP for GameCube is the full-fledged $50, as is Super Paper Mario. (which I never knew was coming out for the GameCube...)

The only MAJORLY low price I see there is Rampage Total Destruction, which seems like a horrible game anyways.

Edit: I just looked at the Wikipedia article which says Super Paper Mario 'seems' to be a Wii-exclusive game.
