GameCube Controller Weird Problem. Help!

Okay, I'm going to try to word this entire post as best as I can. Considering I feel I have enough info for hopefully someone to know what I can do.

So basically the other week or so, when playing melee, my analog stick felt a little "off" on my gamecube controller. It's not l randomly noticed it one game, I just remember it started happening so I couldn't tell you how it happened or anything. By a little "off" I mean that it just didn't feel as loose as it normally should. Basically, when dash dancing, and moving around in SSBM with my analog it just felt slightly stiffer in the movement (I can BARELY feel a different on the analog itself). Obviously this is more than enough to piss me off.

Here is where it gets interesting, so after dealing with this problem for a couple days, being clueless on what felt off about my skill and analog I became messing with the cord. Twisting, turning, etc putting it into different positions. I actually found out doing this a million times that it affected the analog. Overall, my cords definitely the issue affecting my analog, and I found out a way to position the controller and cord where it feels 100% normal and good. (obviously awful considering plugging and replugging controller into different setups at tournies, etc.)

*** I'm 90% sure it's just the first 1/5 of the cord coming out of the controller that's affecting it. So it might be the actual spot where it goes into the controller that could be the issue? I don't ****ing know.

here's a pic below of the position of the cord/controller where the analog feels fast and normal. Hope someone can help! Sorry for the long post

edit: standing up also works perfectly too, so it's gotta be something with the cord slack when the controller is closer to ground..
