I would be great if they updated vWii with GameCube adapter support for Wii titles. There is precedent with them actually improving vWii in the past. But I don't think it's likely.
What's more likely IMO is the homebrew scene finding a way to make it possible. I just hope that there's enough interest for homebrew developers to make it happen.

Right now GC Controller Adapters for the Wii U still aren't too easy to find. Ironically, while in my local Gamestop this weekend I noticed that they had one on the shelf. Maybe when Nintendo has plenty of the Adapters available for purchase they'll patch the Wii U to allow support for the peripheral with even more games.
