Game keeps crashing

Not just a simple "freezing", but a full-on crash.

At certain points in the game, for example, in the last instance, just as it was about to load the "Versus" intro of a Classic stage, the screen goes blank with that well known text:

An error has occurred. Turn the power OFF
and check the NINTENDO GAMECUBE Instruction Booklet
for further instructions.
Another issue with the game, is whenever I've tried installing it on CFG USB Loader, it gets to about 92-94%, says ETA: 00:00:52 (52 seconds), but acts as if it finished, but doesn't actually install properly.
Could this possibly be caused by corrupt save data on the memory card?

It's less scratched than the last one we had. And that just had the normal "Could not read disc" thing.

The only trouble is, the CHEAPEST we can buy the game completely "brand new" that we know of, is £95:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-li...w?ie=UTF8&condition=new&qid=1366336815&sr=8-1

With Wii games, you can simply put an ISO in the WBFS folder, so you can play games that you don't own (<____<)....

But is there a way of putting the ISO for a Gamecube game on the SD card, instead of installing it from the disc?

Obviously, I'm using Configurable USB Loader (and I also have that DIOS MIOS stuff, obviously)

You could try disk cleaners or rubbing alcohol. If the disk is laser burnt though there's no hope for it.

I don't understand any of that.

I don't get where it mentions how to install GameCube ISOs.

All I see is a load of **** about "how to get homebrew", which is what I already have.

So you can't just put an ISO in the "games" folder where the other GameCube ISOs go?

I seems there's only one thing I can currently say.

SUPER SMASH BROS MELEE IS THE WORST ****ING GAME IN THE ****ING WORLD!

First we can't find the copy we have...

So, my sister buys another copy.

THAT copy, the disc hardly wants to be read at all.

She then buys ANOTHER copy.

THIS copy, is the one that randomly crashes with an error.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it... but I know how to backup DISCS.

I have CFG Loader, DIOS MIOS and all that ****. I can play MKDD.

But the stupid ****ing game can't be BOTHERED to ****ing backup properly.

I think if you want to be able to play gcn games through cfg loader you need to reformat your usb hdd apparently wbfs only supports wii games or at least that's what this page says. Also chill out man, you might be able to find better help in the melee workshop

I have a FAT32 SDHC card.

I already know about FAT being recommended, as it's the only one that supports GameCube stuff, AFAIK.

I already installed Mario Kart: Double Dash!! fine....

But this is what happens when I install Melee:

Also, since this is partly about USB Loader...

How do I avoid it keep trying to use the USB instead of SD when it starts up? It gets boring having to wait for it to say "Press A to continue without config.txt". How can I make it go straight to the Loader?

I'm not sure about your second question but I think if you want to play gcn games through your sd card you need dios mios lite, if you already have that you need to make a games folder in the root of your sd card then follow these instructions where it says installing games from iso these instructions are for dios mios but it should work the same for dios mios lite.

I have Dios Mios Lite (not the normal one) -- I've read all this stuff about lite being for SD cards and stuff... Like I said, I installed another GCN game. I'm gonna read that thing you just posted now.
OK, in terms of the error messages in the first place -- I think it might have something to do with corrupt save data on the memory card (or the memory card being corrupt itself) I used another memory card, and didn't manage to get any errors, although I didn't play it enough to find out... My sister's gonna try and see how long she can play before it happens. IF we can get through a whole day, then it's got to be the memory card or data.

It's definitely not DIOS MIOS with me, obviously, since the game didn't work.

I'm convinced it's the save data. Because I used it without the save data and with a different memory card and we managed to get a lot further than we did.
