Gale Strike Short Hop

So I never noticed before that when swordfighter does Gale Strike in midair he gains the tiniest bit of height. Could we use this in recovery the same way Mario uses the cape or Marth uses I think the b-side or fair in Melee?

Yup, sadly it is still inferior to SoL
