Future with mods

I don't want to get this locked but I feel like this is an important question, if a team makes a project m esq game using sm4sh will the competitive side of it begin to dwindle away and are people allowed to use the boards to talk about these things, I would like to know if any projects of this caliber are beginning to be talked about and teams getting formed

I doubt such a thing would happen for the competitive aspect, considering the game doesn't need much improvement in that way.

Well balanced or not, modders will turn this into another Melee mod when the opportunity rises.

A mode that fixes the issues outside of the game
(bad menuing, not saving our game settings...)
That would be dope.

I don't know how mods would interact with patches. Can a moder enlight me ?

We need mods to make stages like PS 2 legal and fix annoying quirks for the game and allow stage bans and stuff
