From PM, wavedashing is incredibly easier in Melee.

Just. Wow.

I play PM almost exclusively, I decided to make me my own 20xx just for kicks, and I find tap-jump is able to be turned off. This makes me want to play Melee right? I go in, and I start with Weegee out of curiosity. Holy ****.

I understand what people mean now when they say they feel different, in Melee wavedashing is almost rapid, but in PM I feel like it's stunted. Likewise, the game as a whole feels softer/lighter, but the characters are heavier. Whereas in PM the characters feel heavier and the game feels heavier too.

Yeah i would say the game in general just feels smoother and because of this wavedashing is easier for some people. Or it could be because you're using Luigi who probably has the easiest wavedash.

I'm not sure how rapid vs stunted makes anything "easier" when I feel that the input ability for both games are the same?

I guess it's just me but Project M feels more slippery than in Melee. A lot of people say it has the same physics as in Melee but I find some techniques to be a tad more difficult in Project M. Luigi wavedash is impossible in Project M.

Under the ground.
They changed the collision to make it closer to Melee in 3.5 at least for spacies. Mango and Lucky have shown they can wreck PM top players in tournament with their spacies despite not knowing the PM exclusive match-ups. All other Melee characters, IDK.

Think it's just character dependent.

What's this thread, the input requirements for wds are exactly same in both games.

Yeah the wavedash timing for PM is slower and weird. In Melee, it feels like you're airdodging into the ground which makes it easier to time. In PM, it seems like you need to time it exactly right.

No it isn't, the wd timings are dependent on jumpsquat exactly like in melee, so for example with fox you need to input airdodge precisely 3 frames after inputting jump.
