ok so heres the deal, me and my friends all think a different character is the best, i personally think sonic is the greatest, friend 1 haha thinks pit is the greatest, and friend 2 thinks ike is the greatest. who do you think will be better? if user skills are set aside. its been quite a debate...

characters? Better? Not so, there really is no way to tell. it's a way of mind, and opinion, and those are not easily changed. People don't suddenly change opinions, some do, but it's hard.

I prefer Pit and Ike too, but they aren't BETTER than Sonic. i like them more, but they aren't better.

Now IF you were to talk skills, than there is a difference. But I am afraid I won't be any help in your area of questioning.

yeah you make a good point, but you honestly dont think some characters are programed better than others? you really think that nintendo is so smart that every character is equal even though there moves and move damages are completely different? i think not...i think if the users of the characters had the exact same skill level and vs'd someone would come out on top...but who?

Well, characterwise, they are equal. Movewise, they are different with special abilities and pros.

Think about this.

Ike: Ike has lots of powerful attacks that are VERY powerful. He's slow, but powerful.
ZSS: Zamus however, lacks Offense. She is just faster and has more Defensive moves. Like paralyzing whips, that stun opponents. She uses her speed to escape foes.

See? Some deal great damage, others use offense as weapons.

Not too good an example, but an example none the less.

okayyy that really doesnt make much sense at all......like in vs, if you select 4 players and fight them at the same level sayy level 5 and battle them 50 times (there all cpu may i add) your saying its totally random who wins? i think theres either a pattern....or some characters are just better than other due to the combination of there "special skills" and amount of damage they deal.

Pit
Sonic
Ike

Ike


Ike is powerful but his slow speed may be a hindrance.
Sonic and pit are both very fast but since Sonic lacks anypowerful attacks it can be a bit of a problem for him.
Again however we don't have the game so making a tier list is impossible and even then it takes months to develop.

yeah i think your right, we're going to have to wait till the game comes out. i just wanted to hear what other people thought about these characters and who'd be better.

There is absolutely no way to tell. Just because Ike is slow does not mean he has to be placed on the bottom. Think about it. If sonic runs at Ike he can easily catch him in a smash b. Sonic's speed might hinder himself! And don't forget about Ike's super armour. No one is better. It all depends on the skills of the player using him/her. EVERYONE has their own strengths and weaknesses. Sonic is fast, Ike is strong, Pit is agile, and that is that.
