FRAPS as a recording device?

Long story short, I had a few videos I recored when I used to play WoW but now I'm wondering if I can use FRAPS to record what is going on me tv. My TV has a monitor cable input so I can hook my laptop up to it and watch movies and stuff, but does anyone know if I can use my computer to display whats on my TV and then record it?

There is really no way FRAPS can be used to record stuff on your TV. The only way to get your TV on your computer would be through a capture card anyway which you might as well just use that.

Figured as much but was just trying to avoid spending money. Thanks for the help though.
