Fox's Perfect Pivot

OK, so I'm really stuck for what to do regarding Fox's perfect pivot. Is there a reason why we don't really see the top players using it in tournaments? I've always thought Fox had probably the best perfect pivot in the game, since it goes really far and can be followed with Up Tilt, Down Smash etc.

Also, C-stick for smashes or tilts? Which is more useful, PP -> Up Tilt or PP -> Down Smash?

Not positive, but I'd guess that pros don't really pivot that much because Fox is fast enough to punish without having to pivot in the first place (...M-most of the time). As for what to use on C-stick, it's a risk-reward thing. Smash attacks hit harder, but are also punished harder.

Fox has a great amount of options from his Perfect Pivot. I use it a lot even when I play against high level players. Its probably character dependent but, C-stick set to attack is the best thing ever. Lemme tell ya...C-stick set to attack is the GOAT

Tilts give you quick U-tilts and F-tilts, whereas c-stick gives you quick D-smash and U-smash. Both benefits are great, but you can only have one.

I'd argue attack is probably better since it allows for a quick neutral pokes, which the neutral is what you're playing most of the time.

I've been doing double jab to PP Uptilt using Cstick tilts, it's amazing, AND still works after the Jab nerf.

Silly question how do you do a perfect pviot dsmash?
Tbh, the answer is silly too: you just do it.

no, but basically, once you have PP's down, you'll notice that in order to do a move afterward, you have to wait a few frames to input the move or you may end up doing a dash attack or something else you didn't want. Basically approach the maneuver, knowing the inputs already, and take your time, and you'll get it. It's not as fluid as PP to tilts mind you, but it's still something good to throw in.

You do a perfect pivot, then immediately input the d-smash. It's easier if you have the c-stick set to smash.

Fox basically slides while doing a splitz kick, it looks pretty sick. I've used it as a way of hitting opponents who hang on the ledge for too long, when I sense my opponent is terrified to get back onstage and are hesitant.

IMO, it's situational, and I'd argue that ledge trumping is usually the better option.

I have been using c-stick with attack lately, perfect pivot -> u-tilt is immensely useful. Never going back to smash now. (and it also helps with shell shifting d-tilt with Wario).

Sometimes, instead of turning around by using a perfect pivot, I do a jump-canceled up smash. (<- tap, ->, Y, up-c-stick)

It puts you behind them so they can't shield grab you.

A perfect pivot is where you quickly tap to dash, and then quickly lightly tap in the opposite direction. What happens is you will be in the standing animation, but sliding backwards.

A simple video of how to do it.

I'm not the best fox but from my experience in the competitive scene it's hard to use perfect pivot in it's best options against strong players. That being said I have used it but only when i'm in control of the game as a whole. Perfect pivoting although it can be used as an option is more of a style thing in my opinion as there are usually better options or easier options.

Perfect pivot best options:
-Pivot to down smash near ledge
-Pivot with a rolling player (Punish accordingly)
-Pivot out of shield to bait and punish(does not always work)

If I use perfect pivot it's for the situations listed above. I find foxtrotting, Dashing pivot and dash dance to be more of my go to ground movement options in the Neutral.

I find perfect pivoting to be a bit slow, when my opponents roll backwards, I punish accordingly by dashing up and up smashing. Perfect pivoting in my opinion is useless you use it instead of rolling, but you can still be grabbed.

Perfect pivots are a lot easier to do out of an extended dash dance, which--apart from short-hopping--you should be doing a lot of with Fox considering his long foxtrot. My Smash Corner did another great video explaining extended dash dancing and its applications.
