When using fox/falco Iget caught between up B and the dash. The up B will take too much time and the dash is predictable because you can only go in one direction. Which one should I use?

Both, mix it up. If you are try to outrace getting to the edge, dash or if you don't think they are going to ledgehog then go with the over b. There is never really a right answer with Fox/Falco's recovery.. just whatever works.

Always mix up your recovery or you'll get predictable. Use them both depending on the situation(according to your opponent's edgeguarding methods) for example if your opponent is grabbing the edge you don't want to sweetspot he is going to edgehog you obviously... Fox recovery isn't too good you're likely screwed If you fall off the stage, but fox can go a long way with his fire fox at least.

if you're pretty high over the stage, an upB is usually best. Then you can either sweetspot, go straight for the stage, or go up to avoid a possible attack. Basically, your enemy has to predict which one you do, meaning that usually you'll survive.

If you're level with the stage, usually an illusion is best because it gives your opponent less time to react. However, if they are either hanging off the ledge or in a position to edgeguard, the up B might be a better option.

If you're below the stage use the up B. You basically have 2 choices: steer into the stage and try to edge tech, or go straight up to avoid the attack and then DI back onto the stage.

Shawn, silly. You need to give advice XD.

With me, preferably, I like to go just above the edge with a firefox and then fastfall onto the edge. Sometimes if you try and sweetspot the edge with an illusion or something, you'll get smacked up against the stage. It's happened to me tons of times when I'm playing ol' Shwn here. Variety is your best friend.

watch matches, see how pros do it in different situations. Try to guess what your opponent is expecting you to do from their stance & spacing, then do something else.

Edit: 200'th post!
