I've been playing smash 4 with fox recently, and I feel like I'm not really winning too much. I'm being punished really easily and I'm not sure why. My play style is dependent on the up-smash to K.O, but I cant seem to land it correctly, or if I do, it ends up being a sour-spot. I'm trying to figure out also how to get around shield grabs when approaching with my N-air.

Any suggestions?

try crossing up your opponent with nair. make sure you're behind them when using N-air and they can't automatically shield grab you. Of course they can turn around, then grab, but not that many people do that.

Learn how to jab lock combo opponents; throw in some up-tilts and nairs, then continue jab locking them. If they're at up-smash killing % then you want to jab lock them and then up-smash. Timing this perfectly allows you to safely up-smash with no risk of your opponent hitting you.

Note: This only works if you can jab lock well and are able to alternate between different attacking moves without dropping the frame trap.

Some days in my region's weeklies I'll feel this way, we should really play and take a look at what you are doing. I don't usually do fox dittos though because my Pikachu does very well against Fox mains (gimp city). Add me and let's coordinate our schedules. I'm going to bet it is predictability.

Sometimes the BEST punish, isn't the best punish because your opponent knows that is what you will be going for. We can talk about what a good game plan is and go from there :) My account name is under this one btw
