Fox Approaches?

I find when I'm playing Fox, my approach options seem limited. I usually seem to go for a dash attack or falling nair or dair, but even when I dashdance and perfect pivot and try to mix things up, I usually still end up going back to those options. I've tried spacing bairs but it doesn't seem as safe because of the start up and relatively short range.

Any suggestions / other methods people use?

Use emptyhop baits a lot, mix up between fast falling and just falling back down, midhops, utilize fox's great foxtrot, other things like that. You don't have to attack to approach, just think of approaching as putting your opponent in a situation where you are forcing them to commit to an option.

Read how your opponent is reacting to your approaches. If they like to sit in shield, just grab them (mix up when you're going to grab with empty hops) or try to cross up their shield. Dash attack is capable of doing this when timed right, as well as jumping behind them with an aerial.

safe dash attacks when your enemy is unaware, space nairs ,try empty hops, RAR bair autocancel + utilt approach, pivot grabs
there is always the option of camping with lasers in neutral and waiting for your opponent to approach
