Okay, so here's how this will work. A user will post two characters, one of which is to be made into a clone of the other.
It is the next poster's job to create the most fitting moveset they possibly can whilst still keeping it a clone of the other character. Then they post a new air of characters, and the game continues.

A few rules: It must consist of all four special moves (final smash is optional), and every move must be sufficiently cloned (only minor things can be tweaked such as the appearance of the move, speed and/or damage, and additional effects such as fire, poison, or electric damage). Potential newcomers can only be used as the character who's inheriting the moveset (as they obviously have no moveset to give).

Here is an example. Below is a moveset for Kirby using Bowser's moves!

Neutral Special - Flame: Clone of Fire Breath. Kirby breathes fire like he does when he has the Flame copy ability.
Side Special - Suplex: Clone of Flying Slam. Kirby grabs opponents and performs his iconic Suplex copy ability attack.
Up Special - Tornado: Clone of Whirling Fortress. Kirby is enveloped in a whirlwind as he rises upwards, damaging anybody caught in this typhoon.
Down Special - Stone: Clone of Bowser Bomb. Kirby leaps into the air, transforms into a stone, and slams downward.

The challenge is to make a cloned moveset of a completely unrelated character that still is fitting to the character. For example, I took the mechanics of Bowser's moves, but reimagined them as many of Kirby's iconic copy abilities.
I'm sure you guys will come up with many devious combinations!

So to kick off this silly little game, I challenge the next poster to create a fitting moveset for Link using cloned special moves from Mario. Good luck!

Link Cloned as Mario
Neutral Special: Fire Rod: Link shoots a small fireball toward the player, causing a small amount of damage and knockback.
Side Special: Whip: Link cracks his whip, turning the player around, also has the power to deflect projectiles.
Down Special: Gust Bellows (Melee: Spin Attack): Link charges his gust bellows, and then releases it, causing the player to be pushed back. (Melee, Links spins his sword around for a short time, locking the opponent in).
Up Special: Rocs Cape: Link springs in the air, causing damage on the way up. Can be used as a recovery, but sort of useful as a combo finisher.

Neutral B - bombacus: bombachu that scurries forward and bounces slightly
Side B - shield bash: reflects projectiles/fighters using a swipe of his shield (like in Skyward Sword)
Up B - hover boot jump: Link gains the hover boots temporarily and makes a super jump, stabbing upwards as he goes
Down B - gust bellows: scraping the bottom of the item barrel here, but he would essentially charge and release an air gust cloning the FLUDD

edit, ninja'd

but since he didn't recommend the next two characters:

turn Pikachu into Ganondorf :p

Oooh, that's a tough one.

Neutral Special - Dark Energy Orb: Ganondorf fires a ball of dark energy that bounces a short distance ahead of him. (behaves like a shorter thunder jolt, with shadow effects instead of electric)
Side Special - Sword Charge: Ganondorf readies himself, and then lunges forward, stabbing into the ground with his mighty sword! (behaves like skull bash)
Up Special - Shadow Teleport: Ganondorf warps a short distance above him using dark portal magic. This happens quickly, up to three times. (controls similar to quick attack, but faster and with a more disjointed hitbox)
Down Special - Evil Thunder: Ganondorf cackles as a bolt of dark lightning crashes from above, striking any opponents above him. (behaves like thunder, but with shadow effects)

Yeah... I know it's bad. It was really hard to work with Pikachu's moves and make them feel less electric and more evil.

Next challenge: Make a fitting Samus by using cloned Mega Man specials!

I can try, I suppose.

Neutral Special - Dark Beam: Samus uses the Dark Beam to fire a dark matter disc at her opponents. She can aim it in any direction, but shooting it at the ground causes it to disappear. (can't all be winners)

Side Special - Spider Ball: Using the power of her Spider Ball and her Missile Launcher, she fires a Morph Ball Bomb that sticks to the opponent when it hits, exploding after a while.

Up Special - Spring Ball: Samus turns into Morph Ball form, and shoots directly upwards, as if being bounced up by a spring.

Down Special - Particle Wave Projecter: Samus creates a shield of glowing balls, which she can send out in front of her to hit her opponents.

The Down Special isn't a move Samus normally uses, but it was the closest I could find.

Hmmm. Someone try to create a moveset for Peach using Zelda's moves, if possible.

Oh, I should probably mention that transformations don't count. They can be left blank, for obvious reasons.

Neutral Special - Peach Twirl: Peach twirls around in her dress, surrounded by flower petals and ribbons. Behaves like Nayru's Love.
Side Special - Rage Vibe: Peach becomes angry and bursts into flames. She shoots a small fire projectile that behaves like Din's Fire.
Up Special - Glee Vibe: Peach is enveloped in a yellow cyclone as she quickly soars upward. Sort of behaves like Farore's Wind.
Down special isn't applicable because of Sheik transformation.

Next challenge: Create a moveset for Pit using Marth's special moves!

So we try to create a "fusion" of these characters.

We need judges!

I'll try mine at, the manliest man in SSB ever:

Captain Snake!

B: Grenade PUNCH! C. Snake pulls out a grenade then Falcon Punches causing a bigger hitbox, but does damage C. Snake only a bit.
Side B: Remote Control Raptor Booster: C. Snake does a Raptor Boost but gives him an ability to move around in any direction including upwards and downwards
Down B: C4 KICK!: C. Snake pull out a stack of grenades and Falcon Kicks while dropping C4s in his path. In order to activate them, you do your Down B except you can't kick.
Up B: Cypher Dive: C. Snake uses Snake's Cypher, but if an opponent to come near C. Snake he would use the Falcon Dive.

Well... That isn't quite what this game is about. Re-read the rules - you aren't fusing two characters; you are supposed to make one a clone of the other. Plus, the intent is for you to try the pairing that the previous poster came up with, not cone up with whatever you want (in this case, you should have used Pit and Marth).

Interesting set, though - it fuses the two pretty accurately.
