This is assuming that the game won't be modified, or at least nothing beyond some glitches being removed.

Please vote and discuss.

Nintendo is adamant about keeping glitches from the original game in when remaking them, so not even that would happen.

I'd love both, but I am doubtful that they would leave the game completely unchanged. Who knows though, if we keep supporting melee, maybe they will finally accept it, and give us what we want lol.

I don't really see a purpose to it when we have Smash 4. If anything, Smash 4 made nothing but improvements to the series as a whole, so why would we need a Melee HD with bugs and glitches that is essentially the same game?

I can see an argument to this, because Smash 4 doesn't supply the same stages and modes as Melee did, but that's where I think DLC should come in: to revive previous Melee stages and/or characters. This way, consumers don't have to worry about buying a whole other $50 game when they could just purchase downloadable content onto the one they already have.

Besides, if "Melee HD" had online features... scores and win ratios and tournaments would have to be kept separate for each game. Maybe Smash 5 will have some Melee features, but that's a long way's away.

Melee has totally different physics than Smash 4 for one thing....

I personally don’t care about 3D and always turn it off on my 3DS. So I’d rather play Melee on Gamecube than doing a homework assignment in 3D on a 3DS or on Wii U on a laggy-ish LCD.

Nintendo is adamant about keeping glitches from the original game in when remaking them, so not even that would happen.
Yeah, that’s why the old man glitch remained in Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green, along with the Mew glitch and the Safari Zone glitch.

… Except they didn’t.

What's the point? No matter how faithful the remake would turnout, people are still going to play the gamecube version competitively anyway.

No Melee 3D please and thank you. Could you imagine how hard it would be to WD, moonwalk, and do other tech? Plus, there would be endless johns about the lack of a wired connection between 3DSs.

I know you could argue that we would just have Melee 3D to play on the run and not in tournament, but I don't want to play a game that limits me because of the bad controls and low build quality of the console. If other people want it then that's great, but I wouldn't get it.

I think we will see a version of Project M for Smash 4 before we see a Remake of Melee. Even if Nintendo decides to remake Melee I don't know how many people would play it over the origional given the choice between the two, because of the fact you may end up with some lag.

Sakurai seems to hate the way Melee turned out, I doubt he'll want it remade, though I'm not sure it's really completely up to him. I really don't see why it should be remade, the game doesn't look bad. I think that the way it looks adds to the overall feel of the game, so I don't really want it remade in HD.

I think a smash 64 remake has higher chances on the 3ds than Melee. I'm only saying that because of some 64 remakes we got already.

But Melee on the 3ds may be interesting and possibly sold at a cheap price, but all the techniques and faster gameplay may have a lot higher chances of breaking your 3ds. I always thought if we ever get remakes, the 3ds would get a smash 64 remake and the Wii U gets a Melee remake.
