For Glory will never have Customs

I don't see Customs in for glory becoming a thing, and even if customs continue to grow in popularity, Nintendo won't patch for glory for just custom moves and not custom equipment. So for glory will be less and less popular and only be played by players who use default sets

It seems like Custom Fighters is seen by Nintendo as more of a casual type of option used for a alternative way of playing the same way that Omega version exists in Ultra Street Fighter 4.
This would explain why Custom Moves are combined with Equipment and must be unlocked by playing fun side games outside the Smash mode used in competition.

Might happen in For Fun, but I see it about as likely being used in For Glory as items.

Unless they split Custom Moves and Equipment, there's no reason to consider custom fighters fair in an online setting, due to the random nature of equipment drops.

But if they'd split those apart, I could see custom moves someday becoming valid. Probably not, though.

It would be nice if they allowed customs into FG, and hopefully they'd give it more consideration in the future. And if they do then they'd probably have to add an option for equipment, which is probably a no go for many players.

I wish that in For Glory, the players were allowed to change the rules taking turns. And that you actually had to at least play a bo3 set or else you'd be considered breaking a rule. Just an idea.

You presented 0 arguments here. I also don't think it will be added in, i can see it being a separate mode though. maybe beside For Glory and For Fun they can include For ****s And Giggles. But i just think they need to ensure there's no broken builds before putting it into for glory.

And honestly, For Glory won't die without custom moves, you're being dramatic. It will do just fine, i for one would still play it all the time if it's the only online option.

The metagame does have a following in for glory but the bulk of it is in friend codes and online ladders, so at least we don't care too much

I think the reason they don't is because they decided to include customs with equipment. And Equipment is massively rage inducing.
