Smash Journeyman
The mode has to be an intentional jab at the folks who like to play Smash 1v1. Sakurai hates that crowd and it's not his "vision of Smash", and going with the "Fox only no items Final Destination" meme must be either ignorance towards how 1v1 Smash tends to be played or and intentional middle finger. That or he honestly believes Final Destination is a perfectly neutral stage with no character biases.
Platforming is an integral part to basic Smash combat and always has been, and FD screws over a number of characters while being partial to others. I don't care if I have to go to the step of Sora and pound on the front door screaming like a lunatic about stages, somehow FG has to be changed such that it has maybe a random selection between at least Battlefield and Final Destination. Firstly because it's just better for 1v1 play, secondly because I'm personally sick to death of FD, and thirdly to watch all the spammers and campers suddenly have to deal with platforms allowing a variety of approach options outside of a straight line. It would completely change the FG "meta" overnight.
