I'm personally glad that Nintendo decided to include this feature in online mode. I can see it being fun to grab a friend and go online together and challenge other duos, or even just going into a random 2v2 and seeing the different types of people i team up with. However, people may drop out or not play the whole match making it an unfair 2 on 1

Smash Bros. Brawl's Team Battles--while laggy--where hectic and fun. And since Wi-Fi is replaced over the better, less-laggy Nintendo Network this time around, it'll be great.

I'm assuming yes means good? The answers don't quite match the question.

As long as an option doesn't detract from the experience as a whole then having the option is good. The 2v1 thing may be an issue but you'd have to be a bit of a tosser to expect someone to play 2v1, so if it ever happens I expect the 2 man team would understand.

I think they will be a good thing. It's funny how the answers are yes and no though haha. As long as Smash 4 is actually playable online, I'll be happy

I can see the two man team understanding but they may not quit. People in the Smash community may decided to stay in the unfair fight and either beat on you or you are forced to quit.

That's a fair point, though I would hope the community would display better sportsmanship than that. I guess another way around it would be to automatically drop the entire team in the event of a player leaving, with only the one who actually left getting it marked against them.

Yeah only people leaving or disconnected from matches worry me. unlike Blazblue, there isn't an easy mode button for smash which is my main problem with the online for that game. I think team battles will be fun. Come smash 5 or some big update I hoep we can see 8 player battles, Since I think team battles would be cooler if you could be facing more than one team if you want to.

I think that would ultimately be best. I think something that may help (but is highly unlikely) is that an AI replaces the character who dropped. Maybe they could take the stats or Global Smash Power of the opponent and create an AI with that skill level who could fight (the character chosen will be the same as the character that was selected by the player so there will be no inbalance or suddenly there is a bad matchup for somebody

Team Battles in For Fun? That's great. I agree with everything you said there.

It would be great. I always wanted to play with another one of my friends online cooperatively in Smash (Since Brawl).

I never got the opportunity to play Team Brawl in SSBB online. I joined the Smash Bros scene in the 2010s, long after the hype for Brawl died out. So I had a hard time waiting for just one player to join a Basic Brawl, let alone three for Team Brawl. And it was infuriating when the empty slots were filled with dumbass AI who kept jumping into all my opponent's charged smashes and giving him points, because for some reason AI don't fill in the slots in Team Brawl, which NEEDED 4 players. It was a stupid, stupid design decision and I hope that they reverse it in the new Smash Bros.
